Matthias Konrad moved to Amsterdam in 2000 to study jazz at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. In addition to his studies Matthias joined the youth jazz orchestra of Nordrheinwestfalen, and later the German federal youth jazz orchestra (BuJazzO). Since his graduation in 2007 he has performed as a freelance trombone player with a large variety of groups. In 2008/2009 Matthias went abroad to study jazz at New York University. He returned to Amsterdam to rejoin the musical scene and started working on different projects. He is a member of the band Tetzepi, the Konrad Koselleck Big Band, and the New Generation Big Band. Besides that he regularly performs with other bands and projects, as the World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra, the Tiny Little Big Band, Bernie’s Lounge, the Clazz Ensemble, the Toro Ensamble, Lilian Hak, Mathilde Santing, and the Willem Breuker Kollektief.
